From August 5-9, 2024, PITA hosted a highly impactful two-day Telecom Finance Conference followed by a three-day training on Telecom Forecasting, Pricing, and Business Case Development. The event, held at the Nalagi Hotel in Nadi Fiji was organized in partnership with Parcus Group and Oculeus, and was attended by 68 participants from various member organizations across thirteen island states in the Pacific, for the conference and forty three participants for the training. Those that attended included CFOs, Finance managers, other relevant CxOs, and operational teams in the finance, planning, revenue, billing and product development divisions.

The conference and training focused on building capacity in telecommunications finances, commercial operations, and development. It provided a vital platform as part of PITA workplan with regular basis for industry professionals to delve into the intricacies of financial management within the telecom sector. Attendees engaged in specialized sessions, workshops, and discussions on emerging trends, challenges, risks, and opportunities.

Key topics included optimizing financial strategies, navigating regulatory and competitive landscapes, and fostering innovation in commercial practices. The event also addressed evolving commercial practices, risk management, and the specific needs of telecom operators in the region, with in-depth discussions on forecasting, revenue generation models, financial & market analysis, analytics, assurance, customer acquisition, business cases structure and development, and more, featuring contributions from legal, commercial, and business experts, enriching the agenda with diverse perspectives.
